What are the responsibilities and job description for the Folklórico Dance Camp Instructor position at House of Dance?
House of Dance Summer Dance Camps introduce students to new dance styles in a playful and immersive setting. We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable a Folklórico Dance Instructor to lead a week-long camp focused on technique, history, and choreography.
Job Responsibilities:
- Teach Folklórico dance techniques and foundational steps.
- Educate students on the cultural and historical significance of Folklórico dance.
- Utilize interactive learning tools to engage students in the history and traditions of the dance.
- Choreograph and teach a routine for students to showcase at the end of camp.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Supervise craft and snack time.
Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching Folklórico dance to children and/or teens.
- Strong knowledge of Folklórico history, traditions, and regional styles.
- Ability to create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Passion for sharing cultural dance with young dancers.
- July weekday afternoon availability.
