Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team. This role is essential in enhancing the quality of life for our residents through engaging and meaningful activities. The Activities Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive activities program that caters to the diverse interests and needs of seniors, particularly those in memory care and long-term care settings. Duties
- Design and implement a variety of engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical wellness among residents.
- Assess the interests and needs of residents to tailor programs that enhance their quality of life.
- Coordinate special events, outings, and celebrations that foster community involvement and enjoyment.
- Collaborate with staff across departments to ensure activities are well-integrated into the overall care plan for each resident.
- Provide counseling on aging issues and support families in understanding dementia care strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and gather feedback to continuously improve programming.
- Train and supervise volunteers and staff involved in activity planning and execution.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and encourage participation.
Requirements
- Experience in memory care or senior care settings is preferred.
