Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Activities Director to join our team. The Activities Director will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive activities program that caters to the diverse interests and needs of seniors, particularly those in memory care and long-term care settings. Duties
- Design and implement a variety of engaging activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and physical wellness among residents.
- Assess the interests and needs of residents to tailor programs that enhance their quality of life.
- Coordinate special events, outings, and celebrations that foster community involvement and enjoyment.
- Collaborate with staff across departments to ensure activities are well-integrated into the overall care plan for each resident.
- Provide counseling on aging issues and support families in understanding dementia care strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of participation in activities and gather feedback to continuously improve programming.
- Train and supervise volunteers and staff involved in activity planning and execution.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to promote upcoming events and encourage participation.
Requirements
- Experience in memory care or senior care settings is preferred.
