Job Summary:
The Working Foreman is responsible for overseeing job sites, managing crews, and ensuring that high-quality standards are met on every project. This role requires a strong leader who can balance hands-on work with project coordination, problem-solving, and client communication. The ideal candidate will have extensive field experience, strong organizational skills, and a no-ego, team-player attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and work alongside the field team to ensure high-quality craftsmanship.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, ensuring they meet deadlines and quality expectations.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans.
- Oversee material orders, deliveries, and inventory control.
- Ensure all work is completed according to building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
- Problem-solve on-site issues efficiently and proactively.
- Communicate clearly with project managers, designers, clients, and trades to maintain smooth workflow.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site.
- Train and mentor field employees to enhance skills and productivity.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of hands-on experience in residential construction, including framing, cabinetry, high-end finish work, and general carpentry.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership or foreman role.
- Strong attention to detail, especially with luxury finishes and custom work.
- Ability to multi-task and manage multiple aspects of a project simultaneously.
- No ego—must be a team player who leads with respect and professionalism.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients, subcontractors, and designers.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and ability to enforce job site safety.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with high-end residential renovations.
- Ability to operate various power tools and heavy equipment.
- Basic computer skills for reporting and scheduling, experience with Builder Trend.
