Housing Assistance Corporation (HAC) is currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to maintain our financial records and support our mission of ensuring housing security and stability for the Cape Cod community. As a key member of our team, you’ll oversee full-cycle accounting, ensuring accuracy and compliance while contributing to the production of financial statements for reporting periods.

What You’ll Do:
- Maintain financial reports, records, and general ledger accounts with precision.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and analyses, contributing to the smooth operation of monthly closing processes.
- Ensure timely processing and reporting to meet deadlines.
- Review financial statements, assist with audits, and respond to internal and external information requests.
- Ensure all accounting practices comply with GAAP standards.
- Identify improvements in accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with and assist the Controller as needed.
Your Skills and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- 2 years of professional accounting experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Capacity to multitask and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
