The Housing Authority of the City of Williamson is seeking a motivated, responsible candidate for the position of Executive Director. The executive director (ED) is responsible for all aspects of the housing authority's operations including administration, supervision, planning, management, community development initiatives, public relations, maintenance, legal and financial control. Serves as Secretary / Treasurer to the Board of Commissioners. The ED is responsible for all daily operations of the Housing Authority, supervises the agencies administrative and maintenance staff, administrators the authority's 248 public housing units, as well as applies for available funds and programs. Performs all other related duties as assigned. The ED position is responsible to a 5 Member Board of Commissioners.
The successful candidate should demonstrate a combination of education, training, and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities, as determined by the Authority, to handle the job effectively. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be a minimum of five (5) years experience in public administration, public finance and procurement, or similar professional employment in government and three years supervisory experience with a diverse staff. The successful candidate must also possess or obtain within six months a Public Housing Management Certification (PHM), a Federal Procurement Certification or equivalent certification. Grant writing experience and public speaking skills are a plus.
Candidate should have a bachelors degree from an accredited college or university. A master's degree is preferred. The successful candidate must be willing to travel, attend training and seminars and have the ability to pass a drug test and criminal background check. Computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and database management are required. This is a full-time position, with an excellent benefit package.
