ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
Housing Forward, formally known as Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance (MDHA) is a backbone organization that leads the development of an effective homeless rehousing system. In partnership with 90 public, private, and nonprofit institutions, we make the experience of homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties rare, brief, and non-recurring. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Housing Initiatives Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Senior Manager to manage the CoC’s major housing initiatives. This includes mobilizing teams of external stakeholders around housing efforts and managing performance outcomes. This role will also support the Landlord Engagement team, case managers, and property managers with rehousing efforts as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Housing Initiatives, the Coordinator will:
Support in the design and implementation of workplans for rehousing related functions of the Continuum of Care
Support in facilitation of Youth Action Board meetings (Requires occasional working evenings)
Assist in the project management and implementation of major housing initiatives
Utilize reports to track and report progress on housing goals and initiate improvement strategies with key stakeholders in case conferencing meetings
Support in the facilitation of CoC housing-related workgroups and assist them to organize, track, and facilitate the completion of tasks in service of CoC priorities
Facilitate relevant coordination meetings with service providers
Stay current on leading rehousing practices and federal and local priorities for ending homelessness
Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships
Manage and anticipate intersections between the Housing Initiatives Team and other verticals
Identify areas for improvement and provide coaching related to best practice housing interventions to service providers
Provide in person and/or virtual technical assistance to service providers as needed to improve housing outcomes
Participate in agency and community meetings as applicable to the role
Utilizes systems like HMIS, Excel, Padmission, or Green River to support the needs of the Housing Initiatives Team

REQUIREMENTS:
3 years of relevant work experience.
Must have reliable transportation, valid state issued driver’s license and car insurance. Travel throughout Dallas and Collin Counties is required, as needed.
Limited requirements, must be able to maintain files and lift objects that weigh up to 25 lbs.
WORK SCHEDULE:
Housing Forward considers normal hours of operation Monday – Friday from 8:00am - 5:00pm. Some night and weekend meetings might be required to meet the need of partner agencies, property owner schedules or to represent Housing Forward at community meetings.
Current Housing Forward guidelines state that employees must work at least 3 days per week in the office, but this is subject to change.
COMPENSATION:
The salary for this position is $62,000 to $70,000.
Housing Forward has a flexible PTO policy for all full-time employees. The office is officially closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, & Christmas Day. Housing Forward has MLK Jr., Juneteenth, and Election Day as Days of Service.
