Data Specialist
Housing Matters partners with individuals and families to create pathways out of homelessness into permanent housing. As part of the Housing Matters Information Systems team, the Data Specialist supports the Data Analyst and Director of Information Systems by assisting with data entry, reporting, and data quality for supportive services programs. This role also supports Salesforce administration duties for our Community Engagement team.

Preferred Experience/ Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or sufficient experience preferred
- 2 years of relevant experience preferred
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Experience with fundraising tools (E.g.: Classy) preferred
- Experience with Homeless Management Information Systems preferred
- Experience with Salesforce Administration
- Experience navigating Windows-based databases
Thorough knowledge of:
- Issues affecting families and individuals experiencing homelessness
- Data entry and analysis
- Creating Tables, charts, and using BI tools like Looker Studio.
- Excellent computer skills; able to expertly navigate Google Suite, Microsoft Office
LICENSES / DESIGNATIONS / CERTIFICATIONS:
- Salesforce Administrator certification preferred
Typical Job Duties:
- Maintains dashboards for Programs and Community Engagement, completing routine data uploads and modifying data visualizations
- Prepare or design reports for staff, funders, and external agencies as needed
- Create and maintain tracking spreadsheets, forms, and dashboards
- Assist with the rollout and user support of data-tracking tools such as Google Sheets, Google Forms, Looker Studio, MaintainX, and Excel.
- Routinely review program data quality and work with program managers to fix errors.
- Provide user support for databases, including HMIS and Salesforce.
- Assists with Salesforce user management, permissions management, custom fields, workflows, and reporting
- Clearly communicate analysis results and data cleanup needs to stakeholders
