Housing Works fights for funding and legislation to ensure that all people living with HIV / AIDS have access to quality housing, healthcare, HIV prevention, and treatment, among other lifesaving services.

Benefits :

We have three comprehensive healthcare plans to choose from based on your priorities and budget. Housing Works covers most of the plan; you pay a portion, based on your salary. Staff begins accruing PTO immediately for a total of up to 30 days earned in the first year. We offer employees an educational benefit. This money is available for tuition loan reimbursement, tuition costs, and text books.

Compensation Range : $60,000 - $65,000 yearly commensurate with experience.

Housing Works is seeking a dynamic Job Developer to play a vital role in the Ready for Work program. This position focuses on building strong relationships with employers, identifying job opportunities for program participants, and supporting them in securing and retaining employment. This is a dynamic position with growth opportunity, offering a competitive starting salary of $65,000 plus benefits, generous Paid Time Off, and student loan repayment assistance. The position is located in Downtown Brooklyn near MetroTech Center, convenient to the A, C, F, G, N, R, 2, 3, 4 and 5 trains.

Responsibilities :

  • Cultivate and maintain partnerships with employers across various industries to create job and internship opportunities for program participants.
  • Collaborate with employers to identify workforce needs and match participants to suitable roles.
  • Support participants in their job search, including assistance with applications, interview preparation, and follow-up.
  • Conduct job-readiness assessments and provide individualized coaching to enhance employability.
  • Facilitate classroom instructions to enhance participants' ability to enter the workforce.
  • Plan and facilitate hiring events, job fairs, and networking sessions.
  • Monitor participant progress during job placements, providing ongoing support to ensure job retention and career growth.
  • Track and report job placement metrics, retention rates, and employer feedback to program leadership.
  • Stay informed about labor market trends and use insights to guide program strategies.
  • Attend industry network meetings and related conferences.
  • Participate in department or agency sponsored advocacy efforts to establish public policies that enhance access to resources or otherwise have a positive impact on the communities served by Housing Works.
  • Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Social Work, Education, Workforce Development, or Public Administration) preferred, however, equivalent experience and accomplishments will be considered.
  • Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
