Position Summary
Responsible for recruiting, developing and managing team of student athletes to represent HCU in the sport of women's basketball.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Directly supervises one or more salaried workers. The nature of responsibility is immediate supervision and management over individuals within the department, in addition to providing work leadership. May contribute to the decision or have responsibility for the following: hiring and terminating, scheduling and assigning work, measuring performance, promoting and determining pay.
Qualification Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Education And Experience
Bachelor's degree and two to four years prior coaching experience at the college or university level.

Position Summary

Essential Functions And Responsibilities
- Serves as a representative of the University, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the HCU community and with the public.
- Scouts and recruits talented athletes for team which involves evaluating current and potential talent at high schools and junior colleges.
- Coaches athletes during games and practices.
- Schedules opponents
- Operates within the rules as required by the conference and the NCAA
- Evaluates competitor performance
- Manages use of sporting equipment and facilities
- Purchases equipment, uniforms and supplies for team
- Monitors student-athletes' academic performance and assists them in balancing academics and athletics
- Mentors students on an individual basis and in groups in developing life-skills, character building activities, and modeling Christian values for students
- Generates enthusiasm and pride among players, students, alumni and friends of the program
- Other duties as required.
- Monthly inventory of athletic supplies
- Supervise equipment purchases of athletic training room needs.
- Must comply with all conference and NCAA rules and regulations.
- Oversee HCU athletic insurance.
- Oversee contracts for hospital/provider services
