JOB SUMMARY
Under general direction, responsible for developing and implementing training for district personnel in the areas of budgeting, procurement, finance, and treasury. In collaboration with the Finance Training team will address the learning needs of school-based and department personnel by delivering robust, targeted, staff development workshops and ongoing support intended to improve HISD employees’ job performance in all areas of finance operations. Serves as a technical resource to other team members in supporting the budgetary, financial, and procurement functions of the district. Ensures maximum impact of fiscal recourses and facilitates compliance to federal, state, and local guidelines and policies.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provides personalized training on budgeting, procurement, finance, treasury, and procedural guidelines and processes to principals, managers, and financial staff from schools and departments, independently and with Finance Training team.
2. Provides technical support to the Finance Training team during the development and implementation of all finance operations training programs, including but not limited to creating and managing courses in OneSource, sending meeting invites to participants, tracking attendance, and following up with participants after training is completed.
3. Plans and coordinates with the Finance Training team to develop high-quality finance and / or business process trainings in written, face-to-face, and online formats.

4. Assists the Finance Training team in the development of training and process materials as new finance-related platforms are implemented across the district.
5. Utilizes assessments, course evaluations, comments, and suggestions to assist in improving current finance operations training programs, formats, and materials.
6. Assists in developing and documenting more efficient processes and procedures to build long-term capacity for the continual success of all finance operations departments.
7. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in business or finance-related field

SKILL AND / OR REQUIRED LICENSING / CERTIFICATION
Microsoft Office, SAP, Office equipment (e.g., computer, copier); Technical skills and ability to give presentations; Continuing Texas Association of School Business Officials professional development will be required in this role.

No supervisory or direct people management responsibilities. Provides work guidance, technical advice, and training to staff

Work involves the application of moderately complex procedures and tasks that are quite varied. Independent judgment is often required to select and apply the most appropriate of available resources. Ongoing supervision is provided on an "as needed" basis.
