What are the responsibilities and job description for the ER Front Desk position at Houston Medical ER?
A Front Desk representative represents the first point of contact with patients, vendors, and other persons. This position also manages all front desk staff
- Supports company mission, vision, and values
- Ensures each patient is given the highest level of customer service and every staff member is treated with the utmost respect
- Greet and attend to patients in person and over the phone.
- Check patients in and out for appointments/visit
- Collect patient copays, deductibles, or any other amounts due to provider.
- Educate the patient to the prescribed procedure and provide pre and post diagnostic care
- Professionally assist doctors, staff, visitors, and patients.
- Answer all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner.
- Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations.
- Schedule appointments
- Complete accurate documentation of patient visits.
- Verify insurance and obtain authorizations for procedures
- Follow safety rules and reports accidents promptly and correct minor safety hazards
- Observance of Universal Precautions
- Any other tasks as assigned by management team, doctors, owners or HR
Must have 2 years’ experience in an ER/clinical setting
Ability to work a successful 12-hour shift/40 hours per week
