Job Description

We produce interior furnishing for private homes and restaurants and some landscaping items. Planning, quality checking, customer communication, and ensuring all details for these projects are handled in a timely fashion is what we need. We have roughly 20-30 projects going at any time, valued between $1,000 and $20,000 each. The current annual shop revenue is $650,000 and should be double that. Typical time frames for our projects are between 4 weeks and 14 weeks.

Responsibilities including but not limited to :

  • Review in-house drawing packets to ensure details match job scope and requirements.
  • Customer Communication. Coordinate site visits, measuring, installation procedures and requirements and site conditions prior to installation.
  • Schedule; develop and ensure milestones for project completion. Establish and confirm resources, materials, tools, personnel, and outside processes to complete projects successfully.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors. QA check outside vendor work to confirm quality or send parts for re-work.
  • Ensure finishes are selected and finish samples are produced and approved by customers.
  • Responsible for in-process quality checks to ensure the end product meets HMW standards and customer expectations, take photos for production records.
  • Document project progress in job note software.

Required Qualifications :

  • Must exhibit a high-level of professionalism, integrity, and be willing and able to maintain an appropriate and professional demeanor in representing HMW, without exception.
  • Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Valid Texas Driver's license.
  • Reliable automobile.
  • This position is subject to the HCMW Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy which includes pre-employment, post-accident, random, reasonable suspicion, return to duty, and follow-up testing.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Quality inspector, Quality assurance.
  • Project management or process development.
  • Knowledge of metal types, fabrication, processing, and finishes.
  • Able to read architectural prints and / or blueprints.
  • Familiarity with interior design, furniture, or construction.
  • Working conditions :

  • Office work at a desk, computer, and phone.
  • Regularly enter metal shop to check on projects and communicate with employees. There will be loud noises, welding, grinding, and machining operations happening.
  • Visit customer sights (homes and construction sites and currently operating commercial locations) using your own vehicle. Mileage paid per IRS standard mileage rate.
  • Must be willing and able to work a flexible and extended schedule with overtime; rarely.
  • Required safety equipment : Safety shoes - employee provided; protective eye wear, hard hat, and hearing protection - company provided.
  • Standard hours are M-F 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm with occasional overtime offered. Weekly pay schedule.

    Company contribution to medical insurance $200. Dental and Vision insurance available at employee expense.

We only produce items per order, and to individual customer specification. We 3D model almost every product we create and provide approval drawings to our clients before any material is cut. Quality, fit, and finish are of the upmost importance.
