Supply Chain Clerk (PRN)

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting and performing specified Supply Chain duties. Works with physicians, staff, and administration to improve efficiency and cost initiatives within the facility.                                                                                                                 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•  High School Graduate or Equivalent required Associate’s Degree Preferred
• Experience with Healthcare Materials Management Information System required.
• Proficient in MS Office applications which include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. Ability to operate basic office equipment proficient in the use of work processing/spreadsheet programs and other hospital information systems
• Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Minimum 3 years Previous experience in healthcare required
• Basic knowledge of statistical data analysis and development of preventive and corrective action plans required
• Clinical knowledge of surgical procedures and the supplies utilized in surgical procedures preferred
• Basic knowledge of supply chain process required

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE

Category I exposure to blood borne pathogens, frequent exposure to chemical hazards and may encounter radiation hazards.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

•  Requisition/place routine and non-routine orders through the Information System, as required.
• Receive routine and non-routine purchase orders through the Information System, as required.
• Assist with setting and establishing min/max levels.
• Assist with Capital Equipment Requests (CER) process.
• Coordinate and perform physical counts.
• Deliver/distribute/replenish supplies/equipment/linen to departments, as needed.
• Maintain information system item master, as directed by Supply Chain Manager.
• Coordinate return shipments and maintain return log.
• Keep shelves and storage bins clean and organized.
• Participates in Supply Value Analysis Committee (SVAC) as required.
• Monitor back-orders.
• Identify and monitor slow moving items.
• Notify department managers and staff of backorders and help to find alternatives
• Ability to contact Biomed or Vendor to handle broken equipment
• Participate in Revenue Cycle process as the Charge Auditor to ensure appropriate documentation.
• Work with Accounts Payable to ensure correct charges for services  Coordinate and perform clerical and manual tasks involved in the receipt, verification, storage and issuance of tissue and preparation or related records
• Identifies cost saving initiatives in specialized equipment, materials and supplies
• Maintains inventories and operates within budget; reports cost variances 
• Coordinates with Supply Chain Manager to maintain availability of supplies for surgical procedures
