General Description:
This position provides IT support for Houston Rockets and Toyota Center business operations during event hours. Support will include desktop, network, phones, event setup and teardown. The position requires the ability to work with the current technology used by One Team and to add technical skills as required. In addition to general support, projects will be assigned to leverage tech skills of the workers as required by One Team.

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

- Show passion for delivering a seamless game-day experience through reliable technical support and a positive attitude.
- Take accountability for completing setup, support, and breakdown tasks thoroughly and on time, owning any challenges that arise.
- Prioritize customer focus by ensuring statisticians, media, and staff have the tools and connectivity they need to succeed.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, pitching in where needed to meet shared goals in a fast- paced environment
- Run and manage Ethernet cables to establish wired connections for workstations, media areas, and the scorer’s table.
- Set up laptops, VoIP devices, league-specific equipment, and network switches, ensuring they’re powered on and connected for game-time use (no configuration required).
- Handle hands-on technical tasks like cable management and basic system checks with minimal supervision.
- Work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced, game-day environment.
- Lift and carry equipment weighing up to 30 pounds during setup and breakdown activities.
Event and game support
- Connect local printers to laptops and troubleshoot basic connectivity or performance issues as needed.
- Address simple network, hardware, or software problems during setup or live events (e.g., checking cables, rebooting devices, or resolving minor network hiccups).
- Provide quick, practical solutions to maintain smooth operations throughout the game.
Event and game closing
- Break down and pack up all equipment post-event, ensuring it’s securely stored and free from damage.
- Neatly organize and stow networking gear, cables, laptops, VoIP devices, and printers for future use.
- Verify all equipment is accounted for and in good working condition before leaving the venue.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- IT skills as needed by current One Team technology systems
- Ability to lift 40 pounds
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work nights, weekends and holidays
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, not required
PHYSICAL & MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- The employee is regularly required to stand, sit, walk, use handle or feel, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, communicate with others.
- The vision requirement includes the ability to review written and electronic materials in both digital and physical format.
- The employee must be able to transfer and move items for departmental needs.
- The employee must be able to adjust to changing work hours and locations as needed in light of the strong focus on external communications and relationships.
