The Email Marketing Manager is responsible for leading a world class digital strategy to maximize ticket revenue, retail sales, and social media monetization. The heavy focus of this position will be centered around overseeing and managing all aspects of our digital marketing efforts, specifically email marketing and paid social media advertising. RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
- Drive ticket sales and retail revenue for the organization through supervision of digital marketing/advertising including an email database, mobile app, multiple websites and social media platforms for the Houston Rockets and Toyota Center
- Work side-by-side with Social Media, Business Intelligence, and Marketing Operations teams to achieve the organization’s branding and marketing goals
- Work closely with various internal departments including tickets, partnerships, arena operations, box office and retail
- Create and update reports on digital marketing efforts for senior management, various department heads, corporate partner sales and partner services teams
- Execute strategy for paid social media advertising:
- Strategic planning and budget maintenance
- Establish best practices for platforms including Meta, Google Ad Words, etc
- Nurturing - A/B content testing, performance monitoring
- Ownership of KPIs: ROI/conversions, engagement and audience tracking
- Oversee all digital communications to consumers, fans and attendees:
- Supervision of full-time Digital Communications Coordinator
- Write/edit/approve marketing copy for Rockets communications
- Proofread/approve final tests of all Rockets/Toyota Center campaigns
- Oversee email marketing
- Create weekly schedule for Rockets/Toyota Center email campaigns
- Work with BI team on automating new types of campaigns
- New customer nurturing campaigns
- Bounceback emails to ticket purchasers
- Oversee App Messaging - Create and assign schedule for app notifications
- Oversee Text Marketing – Create and assign schedule for SMS notifications
- Explore other efforts such as retargeting, shopping cart marketing
- Assist in activation and maintenance of digital promotions and ticketing:
- Collect and distribute all Rockets digital marketing assets
- Maintain promotional content on rockets.com and toyotacenter.com
- Launch tickets sales/packages on rockets.com and toyotacenter.com
- Stay abreast of emerging technology by attending various online calls and demos of potential future vendors for digital advancement

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree with focus in marketing, sports management, business, communications or a related field
- 7 years of experience in digital marketing, 3 years in supervisory or leadership role
- Experience in professional sports, entertainment or related field is preferred
- Extensive experience with all paid social media advertising platforms
- Extensive experience with an email marketing platform, preferably Salesforce
- Experience with web-based content management systems
- Track record of developing brand strategies, promoting brand growth and expansion, and implementing a plan to drive the organization’s message
- Proven success in developing and executing marketing strategies and plans to drive ticket sales, retail, corporate partner sale and partner activation
- Ability to understand trends thorough data science and Business Intelligence, and then turn those trends into business opportunities
- Demonstrated effectiveness in paid social media advertising space with expertise across all social and digital channels
- Superior written, verbal, organizational and negotiating skills; creative conceptualization
- Self-starter who is extremely well-organized with the ability to multi-task effectively across multiple disciplines
- Exceptional communication, project management, and leadership skills.
