Education:
· Completion of or in pursuit of Bachelor of Science degree from a four-year accredited college or university required.
· Actively seeking NATA and LAT certifications/licenses required.
· Current CPR and first-aid certification required.
Skills Required:
· Must be detailed-oriented and possess ability to work under pressure and with deadlines.
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as on an individual basis as situation dictates.
· Proficiency in athletic preventive taping techniques.
· Basic knowledge and experience in coordination and management of rehabilitation of injured athletes.
· Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a high-energy environment.
· Effective verbal and written communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain solid working relationships within Football Operations.
· Excellent attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality, accurate work within designated deadlines.
· Ability to maintain confidential and/or proprietary information.
· Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office software.
· Ability and internal drive to demonstrate a winning attitude and a strong work ethic in the performance of all job responsibilities.
· Job requires walking around and standing for prolonged periods of time in various Club premises in and around NRG Stadium and NRG Park, as may be assigned.
Basic Function:
Assist Athletic Training personnel in all aspects of treating injuries and managing rehabilitation of professional football players.
Job Function (duties and responsibilities):
Training room responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Stock and maintain training department supplies.
· Provide rehabilitation and medical treatment and care to athletes as directed by the Director of Athletic Training and Physical Therapy/Head Athletic Trainer.
· Assist in transporting players to and from medical appointments for home games.
· Assist in transporting players to and from practices.
· Assist in preventive taping of athletes.
· Assist in maintaining a clean and sanitary athletic training room.
· Assist in recording of athlete injuries for workers compensation reports.
· Unpack, restock and rotate the training room supplies as needed.
· Assist in loading and unloading travel trucks.
Gameday responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Attend and participate in all home and away games as assigned by the Director of Athletic Training and Physical Therapy/Head Athletic Trainer.
· Assist players with pre-game stretching and warming up in locker room.
· Maintain sideline discipline.
· Work with officials assigned to player uniform code.
· Perform as Club player uniform code representative.
· Assist coaches as necessary.
· Compile list of all infractions committed, and penalties received in games.
Player practice responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Attend and participate in all team practices.
· Keep all coolers filled with Gatorade.
· Assist in set-up and breakdown of practice field.
· Assist in keeping players 20 yards behind line of scrimmage during any team practice drill.
· Provide down/distance and field position script to chain crew for practice.
· Assist Athletic Training staff with sideline rehabilitation of players unable to practice.
· Administer player strength workouts as instructed by Strength and Conditioning coaches.
· Perform various other duties as may be requested from time to time by the Director of Athletic Training and Physical Therapy/Head Athletic Trainer.
· Position requires routine face-to-face personal interaction with other Club personnel; therefore, job responsibilities must be physically performed in the Club offices and/or at NRG Stadium/NRG Park as may be assigned and not in a telecommuting manner.
Travel Requirements:
Travel with team to all out-of-town scrimmages, games and practices as directed by the Director of Athletic Training and Physical Therapy/Head Athletic Trainer.
