Responsibilities
- Perform various activities to assist the Supervisor in maintaining the credit union's financial, statistical, and accounting records.
- Pay invoices by verifying transaction information; schedule and prepare disbursements; obtain payment authorization; identify any duplicate payments or late payments/delinquent amounts.
- Research and resolve accounts payable discrepancies.
- Maintain schedules to account for fixed Assets transactions by adhering to chart of accounts, defined policies, and procedures; research depreciation laws; recommend actions; complete depreciation transactions.
- Maintain and balance prepaid and fixed subsidiary accounts and database by verifying, allocating, scheduling, preparing, and posting; investigating and reconciling transactions; processing fixed assets schedules.
- Periodically audit fixed asset inventory.
- Post various general ledger entries and proof totals with the general ledger system.
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger for various accounts as assigned.
- Monitor and ensure that bank accounts are adequately funded.
- Support financial decision-making by assembling general ledger account data and monitoring variances for budgetary purposes.
- Prepare various financial, regulatory, and special reports weekly, monthly, and quarterly as requested by management.
Skills
- Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts receivable clerk or Accounts payable clerk
- Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
- Competency in MS Office, databases, and accounting software
- Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and financial reports
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers
- Data entry and word processing skills
- Well organized
- High school degree
- Associate'sunion'sAssociate'sunion'sAssociate'sunion's degree or relevant certification is a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $23.50 per hour
