Packhouse Manager

Overview
Packhouse Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations of a packhouse, where agricultural products (like fruits, vegetables, or other crops) are processed, sorted, packed, and prepared for distribution or sale. Their role is essential in ensuring that the produce meets quality standards and is efficiently processed to minimize waste and maximize profitability.

Responsibilities

• Team Management: Overseeing and managing a team of workers, including training, scheduling, and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
• Production Planning: Organizing and coordinating the packing process to meet the supply chain demands and maintain efficient workflow.
• Quality Control: Ensuring all products are sorted and packed according to the required standards and specifications.
• Inventory Management: Monitoring stock levels of packaging materials and ensuring timely restocking to prevent delays.
• Maintenance Oversight: Ensuring the machinery and equipment used in the packhouse are regularly maintained and functioning properly.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Enforcing safety and hygiene standards to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and the quality of the products.
• Reporting: Keeping track of production, waste, and performance metrics and reporting to senior management for decision-making.
• Logistics Coordination: Collaborating with other departments, such as logistics or warehouse teams, to ensure smooth distribution of packed goods.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
