BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Howard County Recreation and Parks is seeking active, engaging, and responsible staff to work aftercare (2:00pm-6:00pm) for a variety of summer camps for participants ages 5-14. Applicants should be patient, fun-loving, and positive role models to our participants. Under the immediate direction of a Camp Director, assist with the organization and supervision of participants during the extension of our day camps.DUTIES:
Previous experience in teaching or leading youth is preferred.
RATE OF PAY:
Salary commensurate with education and experience.
Level I: Less than one (1) year of experience in specialized skilled area.
Level II: Knowledge of skills specific to the position. Includes one (1) or more years teaching and leading children activities.
Level I: $16.00 - $16.50 (Paraprofessional)
Level II: $16.50 - $18.00 (Paraprofessional)

- Supervise participants while adhering to all safety guidelines and procedure.
- Actively engage with participants daily.
- Maintain accurate attendance AT ALL TIMES.
- Assist with the implementation of recreational activities within one or more program areas.
- Document and report all accidents, incidents, property damage, major disciplinary problems, and any related concerns to the Camp Director.
- Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including picking up trash, sweeping floor daily, setting up and taking down of equipment, etc.
- Follow established uniform guidelines.
- Adhere to all Howard County Recreation and Parks Policies, Procedures, and Camp Standards.
- Attend mandatory staff meetings and in-service trainings
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Camp Director.
- Must be at least 16 years old
- First Aid/ CPR certification (preferred)
