The Howard County Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is a six-week program running from July 1, 2025, to August 9, 2025, designed to provide Howard County youth and young adults aged 14-15 YEARS OLD with enriching and constructive summer work experiences.
As a participant in this program, the SYEP Participant will be given the opportunity to earn a competitive wage while also learning valuable skills and gaining hands-on experience in various employment IN A VIRTUAL setting.
Selected SYEP Participants will earn a competitive wage of $16.00 per hour Please note that this salary is non-negotiable. Please also note that the program has been revamped with an emphasis on in-person worksites for youth who are 16 years old and older. Employment for youth who are 14-15 is remote/virtual.Because SYEP Participants may be assigned to VIRTUAL organizations and workplace settings that differ substantially from one another, the specific duties and responsibilities assigned to an SYEP Participant will also vary depending on the position. The SYEP Participant:
- Must reside in Howard County.
- Must be between the ages of 14 and 15 years old.
- Youth applicants must have access to a reliable internet connection and a computer with a working microphone and camera, as their employment will be virtual/remote.
- There are no minimum education or experience requirements.
