BRIEF DESCRIPTION:
Non-and semi-skilled work involving the primary responsibility of a Dog Park Attendant is to ensure permit compliance at the off-leash Dog Park, and to ensure patrons are aware of and complying with Dog Park rules. Performs labor-level operations service work under regular supervision from a technical supervisor.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be 18 years of age and possess good communication skills. Must be able to approach patrons with confidence and maintain a positive, friendly manner. Read and follow written directions. Be able to work independently on all shifts. Operate a motor vehicle safely. Ability to deal with difficult individuals. Capable of using a two-way radio and phone (voice mail). Requires a Class C driver's license. Ability to communicate with public safety officials in emergency and non-emergency situations and communicate with park officials. Complete detailed reports. Ability to manage numerous activities within a park site(s). Possess and provide proof of a valid Maryland Driver's License (Class C with less than two points within previous two years). Criminal background check and pre-employment physical required.
EXPERIENCE:
Have a basic understanding of park operations and one year experience working with the public.
EDUCATION:
Must be 18 years or older and possess a High School Diploma or GED.
RATE OF PAY:

- Monitor patrons entering the park and ask to see annual Dog Park permit tag for each dog.
- Ensure that guests who do not have an annual Dog Park permit purchase a daily guest pass, and that the dog has proper identification tags (county license and rabies) prior to entering the park.
- Allow only children over age twelve inside the off-leash area.
- Ensure dogs remain on leashes in the parking lot area and until they are inside the Dog Park gates.
- Provide general information to new patrons (inclement weather line, small dog area purpose, etc.)
- General maintenance duties include picking up loose trash and emptying trash cans.
- Refill mutt mitts.
- Ensure patrons clean up after their pets.
