A job you will love:
- You receive and process requests for building services and maintenance from all HCLS branches and departments and forward them to the appropriate County Bureau staff in a timely manner.
- You create, update, and manage documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and flowcharts as assigned.
- You process procurement orders and track supply inventories as requested.
- You schedule and track the rotation of equipment among HCLS branches (e.g., laptops, projectors, projection screens, sound systems).
- You operate the postage meter, prepare outgoing mail and packages, and sort incoming mail.
- You receive, unpack, and distribute incoming packages to the appropriate department for storage or immediate use.
- You assist with production-related projects, including printing, copying, collating, folding, stapling, labeling, laminating, and packaging publications.
- You operate various equipment such as scanners, folding machines, laminators, electric paper cutters, and pressure sealers.
- You support preparation efforts for HCLS Signature Events (e.g., Evening in the Stacks, HCLS Spelling Bee, Battle of the Books, Professional Development Day, Hi-Tech Carnival). Attend and assist at events before, during, and after the event.
- You enter meeting room requests into the scheduling database and manage room reservations.
- You set up and break down furniture, tables, and chairs for HCLS events and meetings.
- You perform minor repairs to furniture and book drops, and assemble new fixtures as needed.
- You greet visitors at the Administrative Branch reception desk and announce their arrival to appropriate staff members.
- You handle and direct incoming calls to the Administrative Branch and retrieve messages from the general voice mailbox. Log and redirect messages to the appropriate recipients.
- You maintain organization and cleanliness of the staff lounge and its equipment (e.g., microwave, refrigerator), and ensure adequate supplies are available.
- You prepare refreshments for meetings and events as requested.
- You drive and make local deliveries as required, including scheduling regular maintenance for the HCLS vehicle and ensuring it is fueled.
- You perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
- You maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- You adhere to all HCLS policies and procedures.

Requirements
Do you have what it takes?
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- Minimum of two years of experience working in a production or fulfillment environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and customers.
- Proven ability to provide excellent customer service.
- Knowledge of office practices, procedures, and equipment.
- Ability to learn and use Eclipse, ID Core, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Problem-solving and process development skills in response to changing customer expectations.
- Mechanical aptitude with experience in general maintenance, including minor repairs on furniture, book drops, and the assembly of small equipment.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean, verifiable driving record.
Your job at the library will be active:
- This position involves a variety of tasks that require standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and sitting.
- The role requires occasional strenuous activity, such as lifting cartons of books, heavy furniture, equipment, and packages Appropriate equipment (e.g., hand trucks) will be used as necessary.
Additional Details
- Grade 3; Salary range $34,465 - $60,434
- Position located at the HCLS Administrative Branch
- Reports to the Solutions Manager.
- Full-time position (37.5 hours per week), typically Monday – Friday, between 8 AM – 5 PM. Occasional evenings and weekends required for HCLS Signature Events and Board of Trustees meetings (e.g., 1 PM – 9 PM).
- Position closes 4 PM Friday, January 3, 2025
