What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Coordinator position at Howard Hanna Real Estate Services?
Location: Virginia Beach, VA
SUMMARY OF JOB: Under supervision of Property Management Operations and the Controller, the Accountant performs a variety of general accounting support tasks in the Property Management department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Verifies the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
- Updates and maintains accounting records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, receipts, accounts payable, internal controls).
- Enters data into computer system using defined computer programs.
- Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies.
- Investigates questionable data.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Two or Four year degree in accounting preferred but not required
- 1 - 2 years of accounting experience, with Property Management background preferred
- Proficiency in Excel
- Ability to work in a team and also independently
- Ability to accurately enter data into system
Ability to interact professionally with co-workers, management, agents and vendors
