Job Summary:
The Manufacturing Line Support / Lead Person is responsible for setting up and supporting the production line and individual workstations. The Lead Person ensures that all materials, fixtures, routings, work instructions, and other resources are available for production. This role involves overseeing production workers, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards, assisting with troubleshooting machinery, and optimizing workflows for efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership:
- Lead and direct production employees in the daily operation.
- Motivate, coach, and provide feedback to team members, fostering a positive work environment.
- Conducts training and ensures all team members follow standard operating procedures.
- Line Operations Support:
- Assist in the preparation, setup, and operation of the production line equipment.
- Supply materials, tools, and components to maintain an uninterrupted workflow.
- Support operators by handling minor adjustments and troubleshooting as needed.
- Coordinates support from Engineering and other departments as necessary.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect product output to ensure it meets quality standards.
- Identify and address any issues related to product quality or equipment.
- Maintain accurate production and quality records, ensuring compliance with company standards.
- Troubleshooting:
- Identify and troubleshoot minor issues with machinery or tools.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team for any required repairs or preventative maintenance.
- Ensure all equipment is operated safely and properly by all team members.
- Health & Safety:
- Enforce safety policies, procedures, and practices to maintain a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and address any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Ensure the area is clean and organized.
- Ensure that team members wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow safe work practices.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or vocational training preferred.
- 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of furniture manufacturing and assembly processes, machinery, and quality control standards a plus.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues and work well under pressure.
- Familiarity with health and safety parameters in a manufacturing environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
