What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Hoxton Circle?
Hoxton Circle has partnered with a local client in the Monterey area to add an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to their leadership team reporting to the Director of Finance. The role comes with great benefits and is permanent-direct hire. A snapshot of the job duties are below.
- Take initiative and provide leadership in annual goal setting, budgeting for the company.
- Ensure that all financial information is complete, timely and within acceptable accounting practices.
- Provide expertise to direct reports in financial accounting, tax reporting, finance reporting and legal requirements to be able to oversee and mentor the department including both the annual financial audit, tax returns and 401K audit.
- Direct and Implement programs and initiatives of Finance, Accounting and Operational Data to support the organization in achieving its annual goals and targets as well as its long-term strategic plan.
- Responsible for all accounting functions and staff
- Work with accounting team, including your managers with month-end closing and preparation of internal monthly financial statements.
- Reconciles and prepares analysis of all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Posts and maintains monthly log of all general journal entries.
- Reconciles bank accounts, posts electronic debits/credits, bank transfers and treasury operations.
- Work with management in developing detailed financial, statistical, budgetary, and analytical studies and reports.
- Prepare data for annual independent audits.
- Assist in preparation of annual budget and serves as budget analyst and liaison for various departments.
Qualifications:
- Active California CPA License highly preferred.
- BA degree in accounting or finance required, MBA preferred.
- 2-3 years experience managing an accounting team, leading month-end.
- 5 years experience in full cycle accounting.
- governmental accounting experience highly preferred.

Salary : $100,000 - $120,000
