What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Manager position at Hoxton Circle?
Hoxton Circle has partnered with a local ag company that needs to add an Accounting Manager to their team immediately with a chance to go permanent. The role is open to candidates with Sr. Accountant experience with the permanent role dependent on candidate performance. Medical benefits available through Hoxton Circle during contracted phase. Duties are as follows:
- Manages the accounting staff who are responsible for financial reporting, billing, collections, payroll, and budget preparation.
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation.
- Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets.
- Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
- Responsible for tax planning throughout the fiscal year; files annual corporate tax return.
- Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the annual external audit.
- Presents recommendations to management on short- and long-term financial objectives and policies.
- Provides financial analysis with an emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
- Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.
- Lead month-end and year-end close with accounting staff
Experience and Qualifications:
- 5 to 10 years of corporate accounting experience
- ERP implementation experience, especially Microsoft Dynamics or NetSuite, a plus.
- Advanced skills in Excel from macros, VBA, to Vlookups, etc
- Experience in an ecommerce and/or private equity backed business would be a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- A CPA or MBA is strongly preferred but not required.
- Public Accounting experience a plus, but not required.
