Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and tech-savvy Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist to join our team in Monterey, CA. This role is pivotal in managing high-volume AP functions for multiple funding sources, ensuring accurate and timely processing, compliance with sales and use tax regulations, travel expenses, 1099 filings, and more. The ideal candidate is a proactive, self-starting professional with a knack for troubleshooting and problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable Management: Efficiently process high volumes of AP transactions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness across multiple funding sources.
- Expense Handling: Oversee travel-related expenses, reconcile expense reports, and ensure compliance with organizational policies.
- Tax Compliance: Manage sales and use tax filings, along with year-end 1099 reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Data Integrity: Perform regular audits and reconciliations to ensure data accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
- Technology Utilization: Leverage AP software and other financial systems to streamline processes, troubleshoot issues, and drive process improvements.
- Problem-Solving & Research: Independently research, troubleshoot, and resolve discrepancies or issues that arise within AP functions.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3 years of high-volume AP experience, preferably with exposure to handling multiple funding sources.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AP systems and financial software. Strong ability to learn new systems quickly and utilize technology to drive efficiency.
- Tax Knowledge: Familiarity with sales and use tax regulations, as well as experience with 1099 preparation and filing.
- Self-Starter: Demonstrated ability to work independently, with strong problem-solving and research skills.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in handling complex, multi-source AP processes.
