A rapidly growing, large property management company is seeking a Property Accountant on a direct hire basis. The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing the property accounting functions under the accounting manager level. This role requires the candidate to have only one years of previous property accounting experience, but company is willing to train in their specific property field, so candidate may come from any real estate field.
RESPONSIBILITIES (will train):

The Property Accountant will be responsible for managing the property accounting functions under the accounting manager level. This role requires the candidate to have only one years of previous property accounting experience, but company is willing to train in their specific property field, so candidate may come from any real estate field.
RESPONSIBILITIES (will train):
- Handle the accounting for a set number of property portfolio assets.
- Perform GAAP accounting functions, such as reconciliations, G/L functions, and assisting with closing periods.
- Financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
- Oversee tenant and lease aspects, including reviewing accounts for correct billing and payment entries in system.
- Ensure compliance and accuracy for recorded transactions.
- Assist with audits.
- Hybrid/ REMOTE opportunity but must reside in New Jersey OR New York.
- Bachelors degree is preferred but equivalent work experience will suffice.
- Must have at least one year experience as a property accountant.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
