A leading investment advisory firm is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting to join its finance team. This role is ideal for a CPA (or CPA-track) professional with a background in public accounting or SEC reporting, looking to contribute to a high-impact function in a regulated, growth-focused environment.
You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing SEC filings, maintaining compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations, and supporting internal and external reporting processes. This role offers broad exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional teams, with opportunities to influence financial reporting strategy and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review quarterly, annual, and ad hoc SEC filings (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, etc.) using Workiva
- Maintain and support accurate financial statement workpapers and disclosures
- Oversee preparation of GAAP-compliant financials, footnotes, and supporting schedules
- Ensure all SEC documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready
- Research and assess impact of new accounting pronouncements
- Collaborate with internal audit and compliance to support SOX requirements
- Prepare internal management reports and quarterly fluctuation analysis
- Support strategic financial initiatives including budget reviews and planning sessions
- Serve as primary contact for external auditors during audits and quarterly reviews
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting processes and internal controls
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 or second-tier) or SEC reporting at a public company
- Direct experience auditing or preparing SEC financial statements
- CPA certification or actively pursuing CPA
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance
- Proficient in Workiva and financial reporting tools
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally
