We are looking for a dynamic and driven experienced Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Hoyt. This pivotal role will have a hands-on impact on recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance. As an HR Generalist, you’ll work closely with the HR team and other departments to help ensure a positive work environment and maintain high operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruiting and Onboarding:
- Advertise open positions and conduct candidate screenings on all position levels by phone or in person
- Review and update job descriptions with hiring managers.
- Manage the pre-employment screening process, including background checks and drug tests.
- Assist with new hire orientation and benefits explanations.
- Coordinate with facilities team on building access for new employees.
- Coordinate with staffing agencies as needed for contract labor and payroll hours
- Conduct exit interviews with departing employees.
HRIS, Payroll, and Benefits Administration:
- Manage ADP data, including job title and pay rate changes.
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing.
- Collaborate with accounting on 401k, HSA, FSA, and DCRA funding.
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues with employees and managers.
- Facilitate benefit enrollment for new hires and employees with life events.
- Investigate and resolve benefit-related issues with carriers and brokers.
- Process monthly invoices for benefit providers.
- Lead the open enrollment process, including employee meetings and communication.
- Manage FMLA, ADA, and other leave requests. Coordinate with EHS as needed on Workers Compensation.
Employee Relations:
- Help plan and coordinate company-wide events (holiday parties, retirements, anniversaries, etc.).
- Coordinate communications via email, flyers, and digital signage.
- Address employee inquiries about policies and procedures.
- Provide coaching and support to employees and managers on various issues.
- Conduct internal investigations into employee complaints and recommend actions.
- Offer resources and support for employee crisis situations.
Compliance and Training:
- Assist with EEOC reporting and year-end compliance tasks.
- Collect information for 401k and tax-related audits.
- Identify training needs and develop training programs.
- Source, create, and deliver training for diverse teams.
- Ensure timely distribution of benefits-related notices and documents.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field. SHRM Certification is preferred but not required.
- Experience: HR Generalist: 3 years of experience preferred; Recruiting: 1 year of experience preferred.
- Skills & Abilities: Proficient in English (both written and verbal); Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse groups of people; Knowledge of employment laws and regulations; Ability to manage multiple projects with frequent interruptions; Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills; Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); ADP Workforce Now experience; Ability to maintain confidentiality.
