Software Quality Engineer
Description -
We are looking for a Quality Software Engineer for our DS Incubations team. The Scope of our Incubations team is to drive innovation and business growth by identifying, developing, and validating new business solutions for our customers. The capabilities we will deliver is a customer obsessed mindset with creating new products for HP, a validation process with customer on piloting, an agile way to test, design and building new solutions, allowing us to move faster and in step with customer needs.
Job Summary
- This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive testing strategies to identify defects, verify functionality, and maintain a high standard of product excellence. The role monitors testing progress, analyzes results, and makes informed decisions based on testing outcomes. The role ensures the delivery of software that meets user expectations and industry standards, by collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Designs quality assurance and test processes for subsystems of end-user applications, systems software, and firmware running on hardware, local, networked, and Internet-based platforms.Analyzes design and determines test scripts, coding, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application.Identifies and debugs, and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into software and firmware architecture.Performs code reviews and participates in design discussions to identify potential quality issues.Analyzes testing processes and suggests improvements for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of QA activities.Leads a project team of other software quality assurance engineers and internal and outsourced development partners to develop reliable and cost-effective testing and quality assurance solutions for assigned applications portion or subsystem.Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding test status, project progress, and issue resolution.Represents the software quality assurance team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.Education & Experience Recommended
Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in software quality assurance, test harnesses and QA focused tools, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.Preferred Certifications
