Accounting Manager

This role is integral to our finance team, working closely with leadership to manage accounting functions, grant compliance, and financial reporting.

Key Details:

• Pay Range:  $70,000-$85,000 per year, DOE
• Schedule: Full-time, Monday- Friday, with four days in-office and one work-from-home day. As you settle into the role and meet key benchmarks, there may be opportunities for additional remote flexibility in the future
• Location: 18633 SE Stark St. Portland, OR 97233

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP.
• Manage the General Ledger, financial statements, and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Track and report on grants, ensuring compliance and proper allocation of funds.
• Collaborate with the COO to develop budgets, financial reports, and board presentations.
• Serve as a backup for payroll and accounts payable, approving payroll as needed.
• Takes the lead on annual audits and financial reporting.
• Provide leadership and oversight to the Payroll and AP Specialist.
• Maintain and enforce a system of accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or Master’s degree a plus!).
• 3-5 years of accounting experience (nonprofit or healthcare experience preferred).
• Experience with accrual accounting and financial compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred).
• Payroll experience preferred (ADP preferred).
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple priorities.
• Fluency in Spanish is a plus!
