What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shipping/Receiving position at HR Engagement, LLC?
Overview:
Ships and receives all plates and most materials and supplies, loading and unloading trucks, verifying identities, moving materials to storage, and making sure documentation meets standard operating procedures and is routed to appropriate person. Prepares items for shipment and receives shipments by performing the following duties.
Duties:
-Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
-Assembles wooden containers and skids for product frequently using band saw. Packs and bands product for shipment.
-Takes pictures of packed crate to include label while awaiting shipment.
-Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
-Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Labels raw materials with source, quantity, and identity and moves materials to storage. Verifies proper condition and labeling of Hazardous Waste containers prior to shipment.
-Operates crane and/or forklift to assist in loading product.
-Takes additional pictures of crate once loaded on trailer (including label).
-Obtains driver signature and date. Attaches pertinent information to Bill of Lading (BOL). Shipper signs and dates BOL and forwards to the office. Ensures that no material leaves the plant without written record.
-Receives and signs for production and inventory materials and supplies entering the plant. Verifies information on the packing slip. Unpacks and examines incoming production and inventory material shipments, and records shortages. Routes other items to appropriate departments (e.g., office supplies, safety supplies, etc.).
-Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies. Compiles reorder list of supplies and materials for approval.
-Operates lift truck or uses hand-truck to move or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
-Assists with swarf and utility tasks; such as: trash and belts as time permits.
Experience:
- Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations required 2 years.
-Forklift 2 years required.
