Summary
Are you a dynamic leader passionate about managing complex transportation projects and building strong client relationships? We’re looking for a Transportation Project Manager to join our team and make a lasting impact on the development and improvement of Texas’ roadway and highway infrastructure.
In this role, you will oversee projects such as roadway design, highway reconstruction, and stormwater systems while working closely with clients like the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) and local municipalities. You’ll manage cross-functional project teams, and deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that enhance safety and mobility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Lead all phases of medium to complex transportation engineering projects, including highway design, roadway reconstruction, and stormwater drainage systems.
- Develop and manage project scopes, detailed budgets, and contracts for TxDOT and other public clients.
- Assemble and direct project teams, ensuring tasks, schedules, and budgets are clearly defined and followed.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget by conducting regular reviews of schedules and costs.
- Facilitate project “kick-off” and status meetings with clients and internal teams.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing technical and financial inquiries.
- Conduct QA/QC reviews to maintain high-quality deliverables.
- Mentor and supervise junior engineers, fostering professional growth.
Client and Team Communications
- Maintain strong, ongoing relationships with clients during and after project completion to ensure satisfaction and uncover new opportunities.
- Coordinate project invoicing and collections while ensuring timely communication with all stakeholders.
- Act as the primary point of contact for contractors, sub-consultants, and project teams, ensuring seamless collaboration.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 10 years of progressively responsible experience in transportation engineering, with expertise in highway and roadway design, , or TxDOT schematic development.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) required.
- Proficiency in software such as OpenRoads, Geopak, MicroStation, and other civil design tools.
- Proven ability to mentor and lead technical teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
