Job Summary:
Strathmeyer Landscape is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to help grow our business. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining HR policies and procedures to establish a culture of teamwork and health and safety. They will also provide oversight for safety programs, manage HR recordkeeping, and handle employee relations, concerns, counseling, and discipline.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain HR policies and procedures to establish a culture of teamwork and health and safety
- Train Managers and advise on policies and procedures
- Handle employee relations, concerns, counseling, and discipline
- Manage all HR recordkeeping including, but not limited to employee files, accident and injury reporting
- Ensure accurate, complete, and comprehensive documentation is maintained in the HR System
- Provide oversight for safety programs including identifying training topics, and evaluating practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
- Benefits administration including employee communications, annual renewals, enrollment, invoice verification, qualifying event changes, and COBRA administration
- Handle employees' request for leave of absence, including proper documentation and administration of FMLA
- Provide recruitment support for direct hire Exempt and Non-exempt positions including posting job advertisements, scheduling interviews, extending offer letters, and processing pre-employment screenings
- Serve as a liaison to temporary staffing agencies
- Coordinate and facilitate new employee onboarding, off-boarding, and seasonal lay-offs
- Assist with special HR projects and Employee meetings
- Stay current with HR laws and strategies, healthcare reform, and OSHA updates
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or business strongly preferred with a minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience
- Experience with leadership, management, and employees in a company environment is strongly preferred
- 3 years of Benefits administration experience strongly preferred
- Fluent Spanish language and communication skills preferred
- Outstanding communication skills (listening, verbal and written)
- Ability to develop, coach, and mentor team members' skills and abilities
- Exceptional organizational skills, attentive to details, and accountable
- Ability to work under pressure, navigating competing priorities, changing situations, and multiple tasks
- Highest level of integrity, business ethics, and interpersonal leadership qualities
