Job Summary: Department Manager manages and delegates task assignments to department personnel for the overhaul, repair, or alternation of articles maintained in accordance with OEM specifications.
Main Duties and Responsibilities of the Role: (other duties may be assigned) Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Plan work assignments and coordinate resources to meet production goals.
Monitor employee work levels and review work performance.
Participate in long-term planning for the department.
Support and recognize system advances, assist with writing procedures to support lean systems, and quality process improvements.
Responsible for team building and handling performance evaluations.
Responsible that all shop equipment, tools and equipment is in serviceable condition and properly used.
Responsible for tool process & tool inventory adherence as applicable.
Confer with customers and other departments to exchange information and resolve problems.
Assist in Quality and technical responses.
Administer shop meetings and presentations
Minimum Requirements:
High School Diploma
5 years previous industry experience
2 years previous experience supervising others
Hold A&P or repairmans license
Solid knowledge of principles and procedures of part 145-repair station manual
Able to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing
Able to read manuals and blue prints
Advanced troubleshooting skills
Able to multitask multiple projects
Able to perform basic math functions
Able to lead and motivate others to meet deadlines
Proficient in Excel functions
