Job Summary: Under general supervision this position is responsible for the hydrostatic pressure testing of cylinder vessels in accordance with DOT and FAA regulations.
Responsibilities: Reads and interprets information, manuals, or other materials to determine procedures and tools required for the servicing of assemblies, Carry out testing procedures as instructed with CMM written specifications and procedures, Observe and read hydro test pressure, Monitor portable fire extinguishers for leaks during testing, Read and understand acceptable and non-acceptable measurements of calibration, Reads and interprets information, manuals, or other materials to determine procedures and tools required for ,Operate manual and automatic retest machine, Performing required daily calibration, of machine(s),Document and record maintenance performed, Verify acceptable and non-acceptable performance of cylinder, Maintains an acceptable level of productivity as determined by department requirements, Maintenance, drying/cleaning of cylinder interiors, Observe and follow all safety rules and policies, Maintain working area in an organized and neat condition, Assist in the overall testing and appearance of cylinders.
Qualifications: Familiar with and comprehension of cylinder test standards in accordance with 49 CFR DOT regulations and special permits, Must be able to carry out duties with detail and thoroughness, Displays a good-natured cooperative attitude, Proficient PC use, Experience with Document Control, Ability to read, write & understand English, basic math skills, moderate physical strength, an eye for detail, Ability to read interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, Ability to see details at close range, High School Diploma or Equivalent, 1 year of experience working in a shop environment.
Physical Demands: The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; the employee will intermittingly sit; frequently use hands to, handle, grasp, squeeze or feel; Reach with hands and arms; normal visual range with or without correction; hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Lift up to 50 lb.
