Job Summary:
HRI, Inc., a leader in heavy civil construction since 1947, has an opening for an experienced and energetic Assistant Controller. HRI is seeking qualified applicants for a position within our company located in the Central Pennsylvania area. The successful candidate will be a strategic partner with the Sr. Operations team and Controller to analyze profitability for decision making support to optimize organization performance. The individual should be a motivated team player who can maintain efficiency and accuracy when multitasking.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepares annual and monthly financial budgets
- Responsible for the month end and year end close processes
- Ensure proper internal controls throughout the company
- Assists in coordinating the financial activities of the company including accounting staff
- Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
- Prepare financial reports, such as balance sheets and income statements, invoices, and other documents
- Assist with research, filing, data entry, and recording and maintaining accurate and complete financial records
- Review time reporting and how payroll is generated
- Files and remit sales and use tax
- Assist with external audits
- Overseeing manufacturing and JCA for the company
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

Education:
- Preferred degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Minium 2 years of relevant accounting experience
- CPA, CMA, or CCIFP preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines
- Regularly required to use hands to move and manipulate objects
- Regularly required to communicate (talk and hear)
- Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends as needed
- Able to travel on occasion for company meetings/functions
- Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements
- Proven track record working safely
- Good work ethic, professional, and positive attitude

Pay: $91,385.00 - $97,585.00 per year
