Identity Management Systems Engineer (IT)
Type of Position:
6 to 12 month contract to hire role.
Candidate Requirements:
This role is working for a major defense contractor. Candidates must be eligible to obtain a secret security clearance (please note, clearance isn’t required to start). Secret Clearance requires US Citizenship (and thus, that’s a requirement in this role). Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders) are NOT eligible for this role. Candidates on CPT, OPT, H1B or TN visas are also not eligible for this role. This company is NOT open to corp2corp (c2c) or corp2hire (c2h).
Job Location:
This role will be managed from a facility in York, PA but is open to 100% remote candidates. We prefer candidates who are in the Eastern Time Zone (but this role is open to anyone who is based in the USA and meets the qualifications of this role).
Compensation:
$64.00/hr to start (there may be a little bit of flexibility for well qualified candidates). Overtime paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

Overview:
HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a major defense contractor to hire an Identity Management Systems Engineer (IT) to support our Enterprise Identity Management Service. This role involves applying your IT expertise to support systems infrastructure, hardware, and software, including tasks related to analysis, planning, design, development, implementation, upgrades, and day-to-day operations. The Systems Security Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and implementing federation services for both on-premise and cloud environments. Additionally, you will collaborate with application owners to extend our single sign-on solution to new and existing applications and work with subject matter experts (SMEs), engineers, and customers. As needed, you will also provide leadership to junior employees.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Systems Support & Federation Services:
o Maintain and implement federation services for on-premise and cloud environments.
o Extend single sign-on solutions to new and existing applications in collaboration with application owners.
• Collaboration & Leadership:
o Work with SMEs, engineers, and customers to support system infrastructure and security.
o Provide work leadership and guidance to junior employees as needed.
• System Operations:
o Perform day-to-day operations of the system, including troubleshooting and ensuring effective performance.
• Documentation & Compliance:
o Create process documents, training materials, and formal documentation for compliance and audits.
Skills, Experience, Education Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (CS), Information Technology (IT), or Engineering discipline is preferred. Well qualified candidates may also be considered without a degree (with significant relevant experience). A high school diploma / GED is required at a minimum.
• We are generally seeking candidates with 6 to 10 years of experience (candidates with Master’s Degree’s / PhD’s may be considered with less experience, we prefer those without relevant experience to have more than 10 years of experience).
• Experience troubleshooting high-level networking issues.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools, preferably Splunk.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory and LDAP.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to learn new concepts quickly and apply them effectively.
• Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills and a work ethic focused on excellence.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.
• Technical writing experience for process documents, training, and compliance/audit documentation.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Skills, Experience, Education Preferred:
• Experience with Ping Identity Products (PingFederate, PingOne, PingID, PingAccess).
• Knowledge of compliance regulations, including CMMC and FedRAMP.
• Familiarity with Multifactor Authentication (MFA) solutions and passwordless authentication.
• Understanding of large-scale global environments (LAN, WAN).
• Experience with Azure/Entra ID and Entra Enterprise application configuration.
• Knowledge of Identity Governance.
• 2 years of experience with Federation (single sign-on) application implementation.
• Experience troubleshooting Federation Logs.
• Familiarity with scripting or programming languages, including PowerShell, JavaScript, and Python.
• General networking knowledge.
Work Environment:
• This is a 1st (day) shift role – generally Monday to Friday.
• There may be occasional overtime in this role. Any OT will be paid at 1.5x.
