What are the responsibilities and job description for the Youth Program Staff position at HRYMCA?
Do you want to positively influence the lives of children and youth, encourage families to adopt healthy habits, and meet the needs of your community? The Hampshire YMCA is looking for motivated Youth Programming Staff to supervise and guide kids through a variety of after-school programming, our drop-in Teen Center, and general youth engagement throughout our facility.
Job Duties:
- Supervise and engage enthusiastically with children ages 3-12 during structured sports & activity programming like basketball, floor hockey, ninja warriors, volleyball, pickleball
- Facilitate operations of Teen Center for youth age 9-17
- Monitor gymnasium during open gym hours to engage with and supervise youth & teens
- Create a positive, enriching environment for children, leading activities with enthusiasm & excitement
- Support coworkers in policy enforcement and forging relationships with youth
- Set up equipment needed for programming
- Attend all staff meetings
Qualifications:
- 18 years of age and up preferred
- Childcare experience required
- Weekday evening availability required
- Should enjoy working with children and families
- Diligence in communication
