That’s what we can do that for you at the Key Program!  Key is seeking Youth Counselors (also known as “Residential Caseworkers”) to work together as a dynamic team in our residential group homes in Springfield, MA for children and adolescents involved with the MA Department of Children & Families (DCF).

Wage/Salary & Benefits Include: 

  • Hourly wage: $24 per hour

 Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred OR Associates degree OR college coursework and one year of human service experience, OR High school diploma or GED/HiSET with two years of human service experience, required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older  
  • Valid state driver’s license and legally registered and insured car for work use  
  • Due to the nature of the work and client needs, Residential Caseworkers must have the ability to work a varied and rotating schedule with their team that includes days (7am-4pm), evenings (2pm-11pm) and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities: Youth Counselors (Residential Caseworker) work collaboratively as part of the treatment team and are responsible for the welfare of clients in Key’s residential programs. The Youth Counselors are directly responsible for the daily supervision of clients, the implementation of their individualized treatment plans, and the daily program activities and milieu. Due to the nature of the work and client needs, the Youth Counselors work a varied schedule that may exceed a forty-hour work week (full time). 
   
Some duties for the Residential Caseworker position include:

  • Engage clients and develop positive, appropriate, supportive relationships utilizing a strength-based treatment approach
  • Assist clients with their routines and adhere to the program’s daily schedule
  • Assist clients in setting goals in accordance with their individualized treatment plans
  • Assist the supervisory and clinical team with case management responsibilities for our children/youth and families
  • Implement proper supervision techniques to ensure clients are not a danger to themselves or others
