The Director of Quality Assurance oversees the quality control systems across 25 manufacturing sites, ensuring that all products meet ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA 6 standards, as well as customer expectations and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities
- Strategic Quality Leadership
- Develop, implement, and lead a robust quality assurance strategy across all sites, aligning with the company’s business goals and the appropriate requirements of our diverse automotive, furniture and bedding portfolio.
- Regularly review and update quality assurance policies and procedures to adapt to new regulations or technical standards.
- Quality Systems Management
- Ensure the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of the quality management system in compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA 6 standards.
- Oversee the preparation for external quality audits and lead corrective actions following audit findings.
- Team Leadership and Development
- Manage and expand the capabilities of the quality assurance team across all sites through recruitment, training, and professional development.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and product development teams to integrate quality assurance measures into all aspects of product design and production.
- Act as a key liaison between the company and customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies, ensuring that all quality issues are effectively resolved.
- Data-Driven Quality Improvement
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across all sites to identify areas for improvement and implement data-driven strategies to enhance product quality and reduce defects.
- Implement advanced quality planning (AQP) methods and tools, including statistical process control (SPC), failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and control plans.
- Compliance and Certification
- Ensure that all sites maintain up-to-date certifications and compliance with industry-specific standards and customer requirements.
- Regularly communicate with certifying bodies and maintain a thorough understanding of industry trends and compliance requirements.
- NPI Quality Management
- Ensure that all product launches are supported through APQP processes with customer requirement compliance and supplier quality management.
- Warranty and Field Issue Remediation
- Manage incoming claims and work to minimize business exposure to field warranty risk.
- Work with regulatory bodies to ensure all field issues at hand are managed appropriately and any risk is mitigated promptly.
- Manage with the team any quality issue that has escaped a facility.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 12 years in quality management within the manufacturing sector, with at least 7 years in a leadership role overseeing multi-site operations in the automotive industry.
- Certifications: Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Manager (CQM) preferred.
- Skills:
- Expert knowledge of ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and VDA 6 quality standards.
- Proven ability to lead quality assurance in a high-volume, multi-site manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills with a proven track record in strategic quality planning and execution.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels.

- High attention to detail with a commitment to achieving excellence in product quality and customer satisfaction.
