Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational plans, strategies, and objectives to meet production targets and business goals.
- Optimize production processes, resource allocation, and capacity planning to enhance plant efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Monitor production output, efficiency, and quality, taking proactive measures to address any deviations.
- Establish and maintain rigorous quality control processes and systems to ensure the production of high-quality products.
- Ensure operations adhere to ISO 9001 requirements with a robust, proactive quality management system.
- Lead and motivate a diverse team of production staff, engineers, and support personnel, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement utilizing Lean (TPS) methodologies.
- Set performance goals, conduct performance evaluations, and provide coaching and mentoring to develop team members.
- Identify training needs and coordinate training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of the plant workforce.
- Promote and enforce a culture of safety, ensuring strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with relevant departments to develop and implement safety policies and procedures.
- Manage plant budgets, monitor expenses, and identify opportunities to optimize costs without compromising product quality or safety.
- Work closely with the finance department to forecast expenses and contribute to overall financial planning.
- Cultivate strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely and reliable delivery of raw materials.
- Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to understand customer needs, resolve issues, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives, encouraging innovation, and implementing best practices to enhance plant performance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience within a manufacturing environment of which 3-5 years at the Plant Manager level.
- Prior Tier I Automotive experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with Lean (TPS) implementation and development of engaged manufacturing cultures.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, technologies, and industry standards.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Proficient in using plant management software and tools to monitor and optimize operations.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Continuous improvement mindset and a track record of implementing process enhancements.
