What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Tech II- 2nd Shift position at HSM?
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Technician II to join our team at a leading foam manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of electro-mechanical equipment to ensure efficient and safe plant operations. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong technical background and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
1. Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on a wide range of electro-mechanical equipment, including but not limited to conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and foam production machinery.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Conduct repairs and replace defective components, such as motors, drives, bearings, sensors, and control systems.
- Maintain and service electrical systems, including wiring, circuit breakers, PLCs, and HMIs.
2. Equipment Monitoring:
- Regularly inspect equipment to identify potential issues and perform necessary adjustments or repairs.
- Monitor and record equipment performance, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Utilize diagnostic tools and software to assess equipment conditions and predict maintenance needs.
3. Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies and industry regulations.
- Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Actively participate in lockout/tagout procedures and maintain documentation.
4. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, parts replaced, and preventive maintenance performed.
- Report any equipment issues or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.
- Keep an up-to-date inventory of tools, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with other technicians, engineers, and plant personnel to resolve maintenance issues and improve equipment performance.
- Assist with the implementation of new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and enhance equipment utilization.
- Participate in team meetings and provide input on maintenance strategies and improvements.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in electro-mechanical technology preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC circuits, motors, drives, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
