YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Experience in admitting and / or ambulatory setting or patient registration in an outpatient setting. 2 Healthcare / Medical - Admissions
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
Healthcare / Medical - Admissions as well as Patient Access experience in a hospital and / or ambulatory care setting or Patient Registration in an Outpatient setting. Three years relevant experience at least one being in the role of the Patient Access Specialist II. 3 Healthcare / Medical - Admissions Strong computer skills, with proficiency in office automated tools : e-mail, outlook and data entry. Effective communicator with all levels of staff, patients and customers. Displays emotional controlAbility to respond positively to fluctuations in patient flow. Heavy phones, able to triage phone calls and respond professionally to fluctuations in call volume. CoachableKnowledge of front end role in revenue cycle : insurance benefits collection, verification, authorization, pre-certification, etc. Working knowledge of medical terminology. Self directed, motivated, resourceful, demonstrates initiative. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite applications : Word, Excel, Outlook. Proficiency in EPIC Prelude and CadencePerforms accurate typing at 45-60 wpmAbility to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate percentagesBilingualUnderstanding of health insurance liabilities
PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Sitting in the same location or standing / walking Sitting in the same location or standing / walking; required to stoop, climb or lift light material (10 to 20 lbs.) or equipment.
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS
Indoor area with frequent exposure Located in an indoor area with frequent exposure to mild physical discomfort from dust, fumes, temperature, and noise. Examples : patient care providers and laboratory technicians.

- Develops / Manages Processes & Systems - Assists with contracts Assists in the negotiation of physician managed care contracts, analytics, and financial modeling.
- Upholds Standards / Expectations of HSS Staff - Coordinates enrollment Coordinates physician enrollment in managed care plans.
- Upholds Standards / Expectations of HSS Staff - Ensures compliance Ensures compliance of managed care companies with negotiated contracts.
- Upholds Standards / Expectations of HSS Staff - Resolves payor issues Follows-up and resolving payment issues with Insurance Payors.
- Upholds Standards / Expectations of HSS Staff - Acts as liaison Acts as a liaison between physician offices and Insurance Payors.
- Upholds Standards / Expectations of HSS Staff - Assists with meetings Schedules, coordinates, and documents for all PHO related meetings.
- Maintains Documentation & Manages Information - Maintains tracking logs Creates and maintains tracking logs for Insurance Payor issues and accountability for closing out items.
- Upholds Standards / Expectations of HSS Staff - Oversees PHO line Oversees PHO phone line, answers and responds to inquires, and assist with urgent physician office issues.
- Upholds Standards / Expectations of HSS Staff - Attendance Maintains satisfactory attendance record.
- Upholds Standards / Expectations of HSS Staff - Maintains punctuality Reports for duty punctually.

EDUCATION REQUIRED
