Technical Skills
- Proficiency in EHR configuration and optimization.
- Knowledge of healthcare standards and interoperability protocols (e.g., HL7, FHIR).
- Familiarity with reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- On-Call Support: Availability for occasional on-call duties during system go-lives or emergencies.
- Certified Professional in Health Informatics (CPHI) or equivalent.
- EHR-specific certifications (e.g., Meditech).
- System Implementation and Optimization:
- Collaborate with clinical teams to identify needs and implement clinical information systems.
- Optimize system functionality to support evidence-based practices and improve patient outcomes.
- Assist in the design, build, and maintenance of electronic health records (EHR) and other clinical applications.
- Workflow Analysis and Enhancement:
- Analyze clinical workflows to identify inefficiencies and propose system enhancements.
- Ensure clinical systems align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
- Training and User Support:
- Develop and deliver training programs for clinical staff to promote effective use of systems.
- Provide ongoing support to end-users, addressing technical issues and process improvements.
- Data Management and Reporting:
- Extract, analyze, and interpret clinical data to inform decision-making and improve care delivery.
- Collaborate on the development of dashboards and reports for clinical and administrative leadership.
- Compliance and Security:
- Ensure clinical systems comply with healthcare regulations, such as HIPAA and HITECH.
- Implement and enforce security protocols to protect sensitive patient information.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between clinical, administrative, and IT teams to ensure effective communication.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to support system upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3-5 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., nursing, allied health).
