The Senior Developer's Responsibilities
Work day-to-day support for LaWATS (Louisiana Wage and Tax System) and Wage Portal (includes applications and interfaces for the SUTA Tax Revenue Reporting and Tax Collection Systems);
Day-to-day support for the LaStars (Louisiana Status Reporting System), which includes employer registration and GeauxBiz web services;
Day-to-day support for the Benefit Claims Investigations Portal (IP), which includes interfaces to the HiRE Benefits Management System;
Day-to-day support for the Treasury Offset Program (TOP), which processes delinquent payments for SUTA Tax accounts;
Day-to-day support for Tax Audit Workflow System (AWS), which is a newly developed system performing tax audits;
Transformation of separate data sources such as spreadsheets and paper documents to constraint-based database structures
Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, and documentation to OTS and LWC personnel for requested work
Perform Lead Architect functions to guide design and institute new technological solutions in transformation of legacy systems
Design, develop, code, test, document, and implement new applications as necessary;
Modify existing web applications and maintain and support the current web environment;
Technical Skills Needed
Design and development of three-tier web application with UI layer, Business logic layer, and Database layer in an Agile software development process
Coordination with the Product owners in Requirement analysis, design of the Web Applications, validation of system requirements, and development of optimization techniques
Design and develop components in VB.Net using ADO.Net and web forms/Views using ASP.Net, VB.NET, ADO.Net, and SQL Server 2014. Write and implement client validation scripts using JavaScript.
Implement Output caching and develop Web user controls master Pages and content Pages and maintain communication between them.
Design Stored Procedures, Functions, and Triggers using T-SQL in SQL Server to insert, update, and perform data cleanup of imported data from Microsoft Access
Create User Controls to display a Grid View of data from Tables selected by users dynamically and display the child controls based on the selected item in the Grid view
Prepare User Acceptance Test plans (UAT). Create Unit test cases and test the applications and websites on different web browsers to ensure a standard user experience for the clients across all platforms.
Work with Agile SDLC by actively participating in sprint planning and retrospective meetings.
