JOB TITLE: Director
DEPARTMENT: Game & Fish
CLASS: Regular, Full Time, Non-covered, Council appointed
SALARY: D.O.Q.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The incumbent is under the authority of the Vice-Chairperson and is responsible for
advertising, maintaining river protocols and river permits, promoting and conducting
hunts on the Reservation, collecting and depositing hunting permit fees, administering
hunts, establishing fees, overseeing guides and the conduct of hunts, and primary
monitoring responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Develops comprehensive Guides standards, and training/orientation workshops
for Guides to be in compliance with Ordinance 24-70;
- Must plan and manage department's finances and budget planning,
- Implement expenditure reports,
- Coordinates Wildlife Conservation hunts with the Department of Natural
Resources Biologist for annual allowance of game; - Facilitates contractual relationship between Hunters and Guides and assists the
Hunters in selection of Guides through a non-biased process; - Schedule staff for coverage of hunting areas according to seasons, monitoring
operational expenses of labor to keep to a minimum; - Supervises reviews of Guides performances and issues annual report of Wildlife
Conservation activities;
- Good knowledge of court procedures and Hualapai Law and Order Code;
- Supervises enforcement activities of the Wildlife Conservation Rangers;
- Experience in the day-to-day management of tour operations;
- Deal with issue of permits (Supervision by department in issuing permits)
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
- Associates Degree in Wildlife science or closely related field in Business Admin.
OR;
- A combination of education and training in the tourism industry;
- Attended and successfully completed an Az POST accredited law enforcement
academy including a medical exam, full physical, and hearing and vision tests to
successfully lead Game and Fish Rangers. (must be able to obtain) - At least one (1) year in Leadership/Management role
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must have knowledge of the Hualapai Indian Reservation, its Natural Resources,
and hunting protocol;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to organize, manage, and control workflow;
- Must have knowledge of 24-70 ordinance
- Knowledgeable in Forestry and Cultural ordinances;
- Must have knowledge in the Hualapai Law and Order code.
Other:
- Submit to State and Federal background check.
- Must have a valid Driver License and able to pass an MVR check;
- Submit to and pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening and random test
