JOB TITLE: WIOA Case Worker

JOB SUMMARY:
The position coordinates and implements the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and its youth programs, and the 477 Grant Program. Helps recruits, trains, and supervises program Adult and Youth participants under the supervision of the WIOA Coordinator. Helps creates and implements education and training initiatives for program participants. Helps coordinates and collaborates with tribal departments, State and Non- tribal departments to help service the WIOA participants. Position is under the direct supervision of the WIOA Coordinator and Education and Training Center Director.
EMPLOYMENT DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with recruitment of participants for Youth and Adult WIOA Programs.
- Assists with intake and assessments for WIOA programs and reporting requirements.
- Assists to create Individual Service Strategies and other assessment for WIOA participants.
- Establish files for each participant and documents all actions taken in the file.
- Oversee the activities of the summer youth program.
- Helps coordinates support services and monitoring activities for all program participants.
- Helps facilitates local training activities for program participants.
- Helps mentor and liaison for youth participants.
- Maintain professional knowledge by attending meetings, conferences and educational workshops.
- Helps Coordinate case and file management for program participants.
- Acts as a guidance counselor for program participants.
- Reports to WIOA Coordinator on a monthly bases
- Perform other duties of a similar nature or level as requested by WIOA Coordinator or Director.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must have a General Education Diploma (GED) or High School Diploma.
- Or at least two years’ experience in a related field.
- One year or more experience working with youth, parenting, mentoring of children/youth/adults with work related barriers.
- Basic knowledge of computer software.
- Excellent writing and verbal skills.
- Must have a valid Driver License and be eligible for the Tribe’s insurance.
- Must pass local, State, and National background check.
- Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
