JOB SUMMARY:
The position coordinates and implements the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and its youth programs, and the 477 Grant Program. Recruits, trains, and supervises program participants within these programs. Responsible for delegating program requirements and activities as necessary to program participants. Creates and implements education and training initiatives for program participants. Coordinates and collaborates with other service providers and Education & Training Department staff to ensure non-duplication of services or incentives and the lack of service issues. Position is under the direct supervision of the Education & Training Director.
EMPLOYMENT DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Recruits participants for Youth and Adult WIOA Programs.
- Coordinates intake and assessments for WIOA programs and reporting requirements.
- Creates Individual Service Strategies and other assessment for WIOA participants.
- Provides WIOA and Grant funded reporting requirements to the Education & Training Director at scheduled intervals.
- Completes all required grant funded reporting requirements.
- Coordinates support services and monitoring activities for all program participants.
- Facilitates local training activities for program participants.
- Coordinates the WIOA Summer Youth Program.
- Serves as a mentor and liaison for youth involved in Wellness Court and at-risk youth.
- Provides follow-up initiatives for program participants.
- Coordinate case and file management for program participants.
- Acts as a guidance counselor for program participants.
- Meets with service provider’s ad potential employers to secure training, education, and support services for program participants.
- Empowers participants to promote self-sufficiency.
- Perform all other duties assigned.
EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND/OR SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Must have a General Education Diploma (GED) or High School Diploma.
- Associate Degree in Education or Business or Liberal Arts.
- Or at least two years’ experience in a related field.
- One year or more experience working with youth, parenting, mentoring of children/youth/adults with work related barriers.
- Basic knowledge of computer software.
- Excellent writing and verbal skills.
- Must have a valid Driver License and be eligible for the Tribe’s insurance.
- Must pass local, State, and National background check.
- Must submit to and pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
